Chiropractic
Has your pet become sensitive to the touch, have stiffness, shorter strides, decreased range of motion or are reluctant to move? This could be due to misalignment of the body. A misalignment creates the movement between the vertebrae to be restricted which limits the flexibility and results in stiffness. It also puts pressure on the nervous system which can results in pain. Chiropractic is done by applying pressure to the stuck spinal joints which will free the nerves to normal function and realign the vertebrae.
The American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines recommend a full physical exam to establish a preliminary diagnosis before an alternative treatment like chiropractic. The veterinarian may take radiographs, do laboratory tests, examine gait and posture to get a detailed case history.
Animals that may benefit from chiropractic care include:
- Injured pets that are sore, limping, unable to climb stairs or jump up, or that respond negatively to pressure or touch
